Curtain rises on Grays Harbor College Opera Workshop Friday

Tickets are available at the Bishop Center box office

Members of the Grays Harbor College Opera Workshop perform for the first time at the Bishop Center at 7 p.m. Friday evening. The vocal performance entitled “Ain’t it a Pretty Night: Opera in English,” features arias, choruses and scenes from timeless American and British operas.

Joy and Ian Dorsch direct the workshop. Kira Theine accompanies the group. Soloists for the performance include Alexa Amarok, Michael Amendola, Adam Cooper, Kendra Gross, Analei Holt, Keola Holt, Katya Lohngoen, Ken McDonald, Jerrod Phelps, Jasmin Torres, Andrea Vingo and Jeremy Wright.

Workshop vocalists from college and the community will perform excerpts from Floyd’s “Susannah,” Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance,” Copeland’s “The Tender Land,” Barber’s “Vanessa,” and Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief.”

Admission is $5.Tickets are available at the Bishop Center45 minutes prior to the show.
