2020 “Rainy Day Reviews” set

Next month, the Aberdeen Timberland Library will begin its annual series of “Rainy Day Reading Reviews.”

The reviews, geared toward an adult audience, will be presented at 10:30 a.m. every Friday from Jan. 10 through Feb. 28 in the library’s Spellman Meeting Room.

“This season is special because we are dedicating it to longtime reviewer Floyd Wesley ‘Wes’ Brosman,” said Stephanie Reece, senior library manager. “He passed away last summer.”

The series kicks off Jan. 10 with Alan Richrod’s review of “The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey,” written by Spencer Wells.

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the series:

Jan. 17: “An Orchestra of Minorities,” written by Chigozie Obioma and reviewed by Nancy Neisinger

Jan. 24: “The Most Dangerous Communist in the United States: a Biography of Herbert Aptheker,” written and reviewed by Gary Murrell

Jan. 31: “Ghost Stories of the Long Beach Peninsula,” written by Sydney Stevens and reviewed by Margie Philbrick

Feb. 7: “Travels With Charley,” written by John Steinbeck and reviewed by Cristine Gilliland

Feb. 14: “All the Light We Cannot See,” written by Anthony Doerr and reviewed by Marge Leggett

Feb. 21: “These Truths: A History of the United States,” written by Jill Lepore and reviewed by Dale Larson

Feb. 28: “The Collected Writings of Robert Motherwell,” written by Robert Motherwell and reviewed by Bill Garrison
