NRA support disqualifies candidates for his vote

Letter to the editor

So! Here we go again.

As in all other cases, our federal government has refused to make any significant, comprehensive changes in the laws concerning gun ownership; bans on assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor piercing ammo or silencers and have failed to alter the registration requirements, waiting periods, expanded background checks or requirements to have all dealers in firearms licensed.

So, as usual. they have done absolutely nothing!

Some of the individual states have made some preliminary changes and hopefully will continue to do so, but the feds seem to be too beholden to the NRA and other anti-gun restriction organizations, so they just sit on their hands and obey their masters, like puppets on a string. Except the puppets show a lot more empathy, courage and resolve.

I, for one, will be finding out if any candidate, for whom I can vote, is accepting any campaign funds, bribes or hush money from the NRA, or any other organization, which advocates no restrictions on gun ownership.

If I find that they are, they will not receive my vote, and I will do my best to see they do not get anyone else’s vote either.

For all of you who expect to become candidates for office and for the current politicians who are in office, all of those students who took part in the nationwide protest marches last week will be turning into potential voters in the next one, two or three years. They will remember how their pleas and demands were treated. They will take note of who is running for office and what they stand for. They will question the ethics, morality and honesty of those candidates, and Heaven help those who do not measure up to those standards.
