Enforce the law

When we elected Sheriff Rick Scott, it was my understanding that he was being hired to uphold the laws of the state, not evaluate them so that he could enforce the ones he personally agrees with.

I-1639 is a statute formally enacted by the voters of Washington for very good reasons. The fact that there exists a vocal and deep-pocketed opposition to it should have no bearing on how our public employees implement it.

I’m sure that Sheriff Scott would dislike the increased workload on his department if the citizens of Grays Harbor County were to adopt his selective approach to legal compliance.
