Westport resident James Lawrence Atkinson passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Aberdeen. He was 60. Jack was born December 9, 1949 in Bremerton, Washington to Glen and Pauline (Hall) Atkinson.
Jack was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1968. Jack worked for Ocean Spray for 42 years; he started out at the bottom and worked his way up to the Operations Manager.
On November 14, 1980, Jack married Edna Stevens in Aberdeen, Washington. She survives him at the family home.
Jack enjoyed working out at the YMCA and was a long time member. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved to travel; he especially enjoyed trips to Mexico and to Arizona to visit his mother.
In addition to his wife Edna, Jack is survived by his mother, Pauline Atkinson of Westport; sons, Aaron of Westport and Kevin Atkinson of Olympia; sisters, Bev Nelson of Olympia and Judy Goldade of Westport. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen and brother, Glen Jr.
At his request the will be no services. Memorials are suggested to the YMCA Kids to Camp Bishop Program, 2500 Simpson Ave., Hoquiam, WA 98550.
