Stockbroker Ed Klein opens new business in Aberdeen’s old Gasperetti building

Edward Jones financial services to move in within the week

The Gasperetti Distributing building at 405 W. Heron St. in Aberdeen has gone through a remodel and is now the office of longtime local stockbroker Ed Klein, who is opening an independent investment office there.

The new business, Harbor Investment Advisors, opened on Jan. 31.

“I’ve wanted to work on my own for a long time and this gives me the opportunity,” said Klein, a graduate of Hoquiam High and WSU. Klein has 35 years experience in the investing field, the last 20 with D.A. Davidson.

Also joining Klein will be his longtime sales assistant, Laurie Kollman.

“My biggest concern about the investment industry is the high advisory fees charged by many brokers,” said Klein. “My independent status allows me to keep costs low and charge somewhat less for my services.”

Harbor Investment Advisors is open 6:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and is accepting new clients. The phone number is 360-539-0090.
