Grays Harbor Community Hospital receives award for patient safety

Receives the 2016 Achieving Best Care Award

Grays Harbor Community Hospital is the recipient of the 2016 Achieving Best Care Award. The recognition comes by way of the Washington State Hospital Association for the facility’s success in a broad variety of patient-safety measures.

“Infection prevention is an important building block of patient safety,” said Rosemary Chapman, director of infectioncontrol. “At Grays Harbor Community Hospital we work together to build a strong culture of safety so that our patients have the best chance for an excellent outcome.”

Components of infection control, Chapman said, include good and consistent hand-washing practices of all health care providers, excellent environmental cleaning by certified housekeeping staff, and exceptional sterilization and disinfection practices in all departments, as well a high level of knowledge regarding the control of hospital acquired infections by all staff.
